About FIT

Turning new approaches into workable solutions.

Better products, more economical production, new functions or a secure supply of spare parts: industrial tasks call for solutions that work technically and can be implemented reliably.

FIT brings these requirements together with the possibilities of industrial additive manufacturing. Our services range from the assessment of new approaches through design and development to the production of prototypes, individual parts and series.

Our aim is to be our customers’ preferred partner within our range of solutions – from the first question to repeatable production.

Our mission statement

We make technical progress usable for our customers.

We create the conditions for new possibilities to become functioning components, better products and reliable manufacturing solutions.

To achieve this, we combine development and production with quality assurance and the necessary verification. We expand our expertise, processes and certifications wherever they open up new applications for our customers.

Our success is measured by our contribution to solving their tasks.

Laser-melted metal support structure with branching struts

Better products

Integrating functions, improving geometries and unlocking new design possibilities.

More economical production

Reducing material use, machining, assembly and the overall manufacturing effort.

More variants

Meeting different requirements while using a common basis for design and production.

Secure supply

Opening up spare parts and alternative manufacturing routes for existing products and equipment.

New applications

Including technical requirements and the necessary verification in development at an early stage.

A fully worked-out design is not a prerequisite. Existing data, a sample or a description of the desired function can be the starting point.

From possibility to implementation

A prototype that can be manufactured is an important step. For later use, material properties, dimensional accuracy, surfaces, repeatability and cost-effectiveness must also be right. Depending on the application, additional tests and approval requirements apply.

That is why FIT looks at the entire process chain. Design, additive manufacturing, heat treatment, post-processing and testing have to fit together.

  3. Hot isostatic pressing (HIP) systemHeat treatment
  4. Removing support structures from a metal partPost-processing
  5. Part being placed in a computed tomography scanner for inspectionTesting

The scope of services depends on the project: from a technical assessment through a revised design and first prototypes to the delivery of raw parts, fully machined individual parts or assemblies.

Scope, requirements and responsibilities are agreed before work begins.

Continuous progress

New processes, materials and process combinations expand the possibilities of additive manufacturing. FIT assesses these developments for their practical suitability and develops its own capabilities in a targeted way.

This includes manufacturing technologies and process know-how as well as quality assurance, documentation and certifications. For applications with special requirements, the necessary verification and the prerequisites for approvals are taken into account early on.

This gives customers access to new solutions without having to follow every technology themselves and build up all the necessary expertise in-house.

In doing so, we clearly distinguish between solutions we already master, experience that can be transferred, and tasks that require further development or verification.

Our principles of collaboration

01

Understanding requirements

Function, installation situation, quantity, delivery needs and economic goals determine the solution. A sound recommendation starts with understanding the task.

02

Assessing the complete solution

What matters is the part in use. Post-processing, testing, assembly and integration into existing processes are therefore part of the assessment.

03

Making reliable statements

We name the basis of our assessment, open questions and the necessary next steps. Missing verification is planned as concrete tasks.

04

Taking responsibility

For the agreed scope of services, results, requirements and responsibilities are defined. Reliable implementation and clear communication form the basis of our collaboration.

05

Building on experience

Insights from individual projects feed into the further development of designs and manufacturing processes. As our understanding of customer products grows, further improvements can be unlocked more specifically.

Preferred partner through performance

FIT wants to be the first point of contact when customers want to open up new possibilities, improve existing products or solve demanding manufacturing tasks within our range of solutions.

We live up to this aim through technical expertise, reliable statements and dependable implementation. This also means taking up relevant developments early and making their concrete benefit visible to customers.

Long-term partnership grows when joint projects repeatedly deliver concrete benefits.
