(Lupburg, Nagoya) The rapidly growing FIT Additive Manufacturing Group’s corporate headquarters and operational activities are located in Germany, but sales and project management operations extend to the United States, Romania, and the Russian Federation. Now, with the establishment of its newest fully owned subsidiary FIT Japan K.K., the AM specialist expands to the promising Japanese markets.
Analysis of the Japanese AM & services market affirmed the situation was marked by a striking shift in the manufacturing strategies and business needs of companies, necessitating the substitution of prototypes with final parts and tools and successful high volume manufacturing outcomes. When compared to Europe, technical development in Japan continues to lag behind, with many companies taking a wait-and-see approach. However, Japan currently has a wide range of opportunities arriving in the AM industry. This growth in the market is attributed to the increasing demand from various end-use application verticals such as healthcare industry, architecture industry, among others. The highest interest can be observed with the major car manufacturers who consider Additive Manufacturing (AM) as a motivating force to strengthen their market leadership.
From a strategic point of view, reaching out to the Japanese market is a logical consideration for FIT Additive Manufacturing Group. "Step by step, we will evolve from a foreign contract manufacturer to an insider in the Japanese innovation system. To this goal, we have established a Japanese subsidiary to serve as a direct interface for our ADM services to the market and to introduce us to important Japanese customers. Starting from a position as a global technology leader, we intend to open up the Japanese as well as the Asian markets and to consolidate business in the long run", explains Carl Fruth, CEO at FIT Additive Manufacturing Group, summarizing the company's intentions. An advantage will be that, albeit a new company name, FIT Japan K.K., is not entirely new to the market, as some of the most important Japanese companies are already FIT Additive Manufacturing Group customers.
FIT Additive Manufacturing Group is competitively distinguished by more than 20 years of experience in AM coupled with a broad range of additive technologies at hand, plus a deep expert knowledge of production processes. Specialized in volume manufacturing of cutting-edge parts made by AM, the company has developed its own successful approach described as ADM, Additive Design, and Manufacturing, thus appreciating the integral importance of design and its relationship to the success of the product. The service offered by FIT Additive Manufacturing Group is comprehensive, including additive design and engineering in the pre-production phase, a broad range of technologies for the production process, and elaborate post-processing finishing techniques as well as extensive quality assurance options.
Mr Yasushi Murata is FIT Additive Manufacturing Group's assigned leader in Japan. He has a 30-year track record as an experienced insider to the Japanese industry, especially to the automotive sector. "When learning about FIT Additive Manufacturing Group and its ADM concept for the first time, I was immediately intrigued by its potential", Murata describes his mission. "I'm overjoyed to empower Japanese companies with FIT's expertise. I'm not exaggerating… I'm convinced that FIT Additive Manufacturing Group can act as a game-changer for the Japanese productive industry of today."
